I hate a holiday manufactured upon a lie and all the hypocrisy of "Peace on Earth". Why do we not practice this 365?

6. I LOVE Christmas, my dear Ptah.......
For me, it is all about love, giving and making others happy....as much as possible.

I can certainly understand where you're coming from, though....

With your son in prison for another 4 years or so, of course you are not happy at this time of year...

Check your PM in a moment.....

17. I can't, either.
I'm 20, and moved away from my family a couple years ago. Seems it's a lot harder to buy cards and gifts when most everyone you love is so far away. I feel like, it's an obligation, rather than a gift. All of which make me feel guilty and depressed, and the only thing I'm ready for is for the season to be over. ;)

19. I think the most troublesome is the
guilt.

The word obligation is important.

It makes it more difficult.

I hope you are able to find your own home, Ariana Celeste.

I'm much too young to feel this damn old
All my cards are on the table with no ace left in the hole

Sometimes the music helps me make it through the night.

39. Yep. Despise it.
Noisy, clashy (not The Clashy) music. Obnoxious crowds of bad-tempered people. Self-righteous hypocrites convinced of their own moral superiority because they participate in the Orgy o' Plastic. Quantity time with family members with whom quality time is bad enough. Excessive consumption of electricity, food, alcohol and tinsel.

Ick. What a waste.

53. Just curious
. Snow and blowing Snow Advisory remains in effect from 11 PM
this evening to 5 PM MST Thursday...

A snow and blowing Snow Advisory remains in effect from 11 PM
this evening to 5 PM MST Thursday.

The rain and snow mix will change to all snow tonight as a cold front
passes. Accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are expected. Breezy west
winds will combine with the falling snow to create blowing snow at
times.

A snow and blowing Snow Advisory means that visibilities will be
limited due to a combination of falling and blowing snow. Use
caution when traveling... especially in open areas.

so that's not a problem. Closed areas are much better to travel in, because you get to the other side so much sooner.

58. I really don't like Christmas but I like Yule or Solstice.
This year I had a hard time getting into the holiday feeling due to my little cat's sudden death.

This year I think Solstice (Dec. 21) was very special, I had promised to marry two couples on Solstice that really got me in the spirit.

To me this time of the year isn't about gifts and all the other things that come with Christmas, it's about being with friends and family.

I am now on vacation in the country taking care of a little farm for a few weeks, this is a special time for me. Last night a new little calf was born, I watched this new life come into the world, mother and baby are fine.

I hope you have a happy New Year.
