It was completely submurged by Katrina floodwaters and is now required to be destroyed. This was my way of giving it a proper send off.

1. I like it! It could be HUGH!

You should keep it as a souvenir. A truly great and HUGH! lawn ornament. Hubby and I lost a car to floodwaters once. We were sad- it was a very cute Renault LeCar and we loved it. Hubby bought a bicycle with the insurance money- guess it had more sentimental than real value!

do you know how we can get these cars towed away like the fridges or do we have to pay to get them removed?

is there a number to call?

thanks!

p.s. not to imply yr car should be towed, you did a nice job on it, but we have a few cars around here that just gotta gee-oh GO!!!

8. friend said there's a number for the cars
He said the Bridgehouse gets a small amount for towing the cars. I'd call them, but you may need to be the owner. I'll call about this one if it's still there in a week.

3. Maybe you could also paint on the side "Dying like an American soldier
during a republican administration - neglected and forgotten and without any compensation to the family".

Seriously, and politics aside, I think what you did is great! It looks awesome, and does it good honor.

And my condolences to you on all your losses.

6. What I meant by carrying it into the future:
NOT the car, but the picture and the memories you get from looking at the picture!

Sorry I wasn't very clear on this!

10. Righteous! Right up there with the Xmas display at Lakeside.
All it needs is an inflatable Mike Brown doll behind the wheel -- or better yet, strapped to the hood!

The re-emergence of the indefatigable, dark, twisted New Orleans sense of humor (that has informed my own so deeply) is definitely a most welcome sign of renewed life in the home town. :bounce:
