5. No kidding
I am having a bad day anyway...my computer seems to have acquired a particularly nefarious piece of malware, and I may have to reformat and everything. So I took a break from my back up to go have lunch and they are out of peapods.

:grr: :nuke:

9. Oddly, that's not shocking to me.
Most wholesale produce distributors don't deliver either on Sundays or legal holidays, which means that the restaurant hasn't had a produce delivery since Saturday morning. Which would be more than acceptable under most circumstances, but Chinese is actually amazingly popular for Christmas. So they're probably sold out on a number of different perishable items and unable to replenish until tomorrow.

11. Isn't there a nearby grocery store?
I remember going to an Italian restaurant with my family. The special was eggplant parmesean which my mother ordered. It took a long time for the food to come. When it did come, my mother ased what took so long.
They had run out of eggplant and had to buy some more at the grocery store. The first two nearby grocery stores, which are small stores, they had gone to didn't have eggplant at the time. They had to drive across town to Kroger to get some.
It seems that some restaurants are not willing to do this. This is especially true if they are a chain, such as the Subway near us who had a sign saying that they would be out of cucumber for the next two days. If they are independent though, I'd suggest to them that they should send someone to the grocery store.

12. Maybe they could substitute snow plows
One of our local Chinese restaurants features "chicken with snow plows" on their menu.
