NEED MUSIC RECOMENDATIONS!!!!!
Okay people, I'm way into punk rock, electric music, rock, and pretty much everything else.

My favorite bands/groups/singers are:

Bob Dylan

The Who

Ray Charles

Ladytron

The Caesars

The Clash

The Dead Milkmen

and that's about it. I have access to iTunes and stuff. Help! I have 40 dollars worth of cardage to use!

2. There's an Austrailian artist you may like: Paul Kelly
Really great poet with much feeling in his music. Might wanna track down some bits to listen to. If you can't find anything, PM me and I will see if I can get you some links to listen to. My daughter is a big Kelly fan, going to his shows when he is in LA.

Dylan: Blind Willie Johnson. An excellent single disc reissue of original masters from this seminal bluesman preacher on Sony Legacy, 65516. Also, any of Yazoo's many excellent collections of rural good time or sacred and string band music from both the black and white traditions. My favorites are any volume from their sacred releases; How Can I Keep From Singing and The Half Ain't Never Been Told.

Ray Charles: T-Bone Walker. Many good collections. I check www.allmusic.com. And Louis Jordan, without a doubt. His best work is on a well filled single disc from M.C.A. He was as popular as Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby in the '40s. His producer, Milt Gabler (who is also Billy Crystal's uncle), taught Bill Haley about Louis Jordan. B.B. King acknowledges him as an influence, too.

For the rest, I'd contact Paul at Paul's cd in Pittsburgh, www.paulsstore.com. His page doesn't say much but he and his all knowing staff will cover you. I've always been happy with them. :toast:

11. I LOVE Johnny Cash.
One of more... infamous moments with my mother was when we were walking through the dressing room of some store.

And we were singing Ring of Fire at the top of our lungs the entire time.

13. He's a part of American music history
It's a pity the old standards and ballads he used to sing seem to be lost to the latter generations.

I met a lot of great musicians during my almost 20 years in Nashville, but I missed shaking his hand. A real personal disappointment.

15. If you don't have it, Patti Smith's "Horses" is genius. It was reissued in
November (because it's 30 years old(!)) with a bonus live recording of the album in July that is absolutely fantastic.
