My neighbors got the kids a "bug barn" and a "locker". Both THEORETICALLY involve only the use of a hammer, Phillips head screwdriver, and thumbs (for thumbtacks, not the hammer)

One Dremel, a ton of bent nails, a sore thumb, and several newly learned words later, the kids have something that somewhat resembles the pictures on the box.
