1. I do.
You do. Most progressives do. Unfortunately, too many church-going, hate-spewing, Bush-voting wackos don't. Kill thousands of innocents in Iraq, and it's their Lord's will. Say "Happy Holidays," and, by gosh, you're immoral!

3. Would Merry Holidays be a compromise? Somehow I think not.
On a side note of interest I have had several democratic friends wish me a merry christmas and several repukes i know say happy holidays. I really dont know what the hell is going on anymore.

5. It's just a general state of messy confusion.
I mean, seriously, who the hell cares whether it's "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays" or "Blessed Yule" or "Happy Hanukkah"? It's the sentiment behind the words that really counts.

Funny isn't it, the people that holler and scream about it christmas the most are the ones who miss its point.

4. Yes and hell yes!!!
I mean, personally I think Christmas is the least religious holiday out there. We battle each other to find the best gifts and outdo our friends, neighbors and co-workers for the most outrageous gifts. And it's one of the 2 major holidays that bring out what we would call the "C&E" church goers (those who only go to church for Christmas and Easter).

Personally I think Jesus would be aghast if he came back to earth and saw what we earthen folks are doing in this name. Then I think he'd deck Bill O'Reilly for making a fake issue out of it all

12. Father Tom said to wish people "Peace" because you dont know
whose religion it is, and you might offend someone. He also said he uses merry christmas to those who he knows practices christianity.

13. Yesterday I was wished a Merry Christmas
by the garage parking attendant at my gig. I wished him a merry one back, when it occurred to me that the gentleman could have easily been a Muslim. So I addended my "Merry Christmas" with "...or whatever you might happen to celebrate. What the hey...Merry Everything!"

He seemed pleased with that.
