5. I don't care either. After I heard him riffing in NY
in 1990 about someone w/cancer who deserved it, while my mom was dying, I never got over his crassness.

8. I don't really care either.
I have nothing against Howard Stern, but I am not a big fan of talk radio to begin with. I'm glad he pushes the envelope when it comes to free speech, but his moving around a lot at radio stations means nada to me. I find the idea of paying for any radio station ooutrageous, unless it is a commercial free station. I can't afford Xbox radio or Serious radio or cable radio or whatever they call it. I'm not that entertained by the story to bother. I know I can't afford it anyhow.

13. Last time I listened to Stern was 9-11-01
That's the only day that I gave a shit what was going on at 6:00 AM in New York City. If you want a national radio show, make it a national show, not a New York - centric show that's syndicated nationwide.

14. I watched Stern for awhile when he was on HBO
But I got tired of him pretty quick. Guys who say stuff like "You've got great tits" and ask their size... that's just really tacky to me.

I think his whole bit is getting back at the people who picked on him in school.

I'd do you...HARD, you know that, Honey?!

:boring:

Yeah, his schtick gets old. Every now and then I find it morbidly entertaining to tune into his older shows on E!. I am fascinated at the readiness of women to walk into that studio and disrobe. I find it FAR MORE interesting when a guest refuses and sits there CLOTHED for her interview. Such a novel concept.

17. *forehead slap* Yeah, E, not HBO
And, yeah, the willingness of the bimbi; I'll never understand that. What kind of mind thinks "Oooo, I'd loooooooove to go on Howie's show and take off all my clothes and let him cut me up like a side of cheap beef"?

I guess they get a T-shirt or somethin', though. :eyes:

18. Sometimes they get plastic surgery.
That was the first Howard Stern show I ever saw. Women were marching in their and snatching off clothes left and right, all to be evaluated for a plastic surgery makeover paid for by the show. Talk about a train wreck!

A few times Robin said, "...could we please try to remember these ARE human beings." Some of it was beyond cruel. I didn't know if I could justify my anger or disgust, as the women opened themselves up for it and willingly participated--just so they could get surgery. I didn't know whether to be mad at Stern's panel or the women...

19. I'd be mad at Stern's people
Maybe Robin in particular. Why would another woman put up with that for so many years? And Robin's smart. But I guess she's well-paid, too. :eyes:

Stern and the other guys... they're just eternal adolescents. In other words, pigs.

The women... I just pity them, if that's where their self-esteem comes from.

20. Pretty much the conclusion I reached
except Robin. She just confuses me. I'm never sure if she is just acting amused, or if she just has a really perverse sense of humour and is entertained by all of their antics.

The women doing it, you're right--they are sad. The really heartbreaking ones, allow themselves to be picked apart and scrutinized to a disturbing degree, then they weep when they aren't selected for the surgery and BEG to do some humiliating stunt in the studio to earn it.

I was watching the whole time with this range of emotions--but when it got to that point, I had to turn away. It pisses me off that our society has told these women they are nothing without surgery--and that the women believed it.

22. I've wondered if Robin isn't way ahead of them
and laughing all the way to the bank and/or appeasing any disgust she may have with her somewhere-up-there lifestyle.

Thing is, she's the only one of the bunch I have any respect for. But I'd have a lot more if she'd just walk the hell out.

The really sad part is, either respect doesn't mean much to some people or they have a rather warped concept of what it is and how to get it.

15. I liked his movie...
But found his radio show (that was aired on cable TV) a bit too juvenile for my tastes to watch more than a few times.
