1. If you used an Ampeg SVT, it would melt the snow.
Try a sled?

2. An SVT cabinet makes an excellent sled.
Just pack the rest of you gear on your cabinet, and get a reindeer to pull you.

Problem solved.

3. I have an Ampeg SVT
With an AMPEG 4-10 cab. It's a bitch to carry around when I can't use the wheels.

5. Friend, I grew up in Houston, and I live in LA.
As an amp tech, I have felt the joy of getting between the 650VDC B+ rail of an SVT and the grounded chassis (more than once, across the chest), but I don't know nuthin' 'bout luggin' amps in the snow. I can imagine it must be a total PITA.

Maybe a nice Eden or SWR for gigging? I allus tell folks "get a '59 Bassman reissue and mod it for gigging, leave the real tweed Fender at home".
