Permission to rant, captain?
Damn my car dealer to hell! I brought it in a month ago with a fault, which they arranged to fix two weeks later. It was also due for its MOT test (that's a government roadworthiness inspection, all vehicles must pass it annually) yesterday, so I figured I would arrange that when I brought it in to be fixed.

Anyway, when the date was due two weeks ago they called me to say they had to postpone because they had an engineer off sick, or something. They rescheduled to fix my car last Friday. When last Thursday came around, they called me to postpone again - this time because they don't have the necessary parts.

:wtf:

I guess three weeks since I originally brought it in is insufficient time to get the parts in, right? Anyway, so I am still driving around a broken car and they are supposed to fix it after Christmas. But what about that MOT test? That ran out yesterday! So they said, okay, you can bring it in today, but we have no loan car at such short notice, so you'll have to wait. The inspection will take about fifty minutes. So I went there for 9am this morning and waited. And waited. And waited.

It took them three hours to get my car back to me. Which leaves me with four fucking hours to make up at work!!!

:nuke:

3. Can you return the car to them?
Get your money back and buy from a reputable dealer.

I was asleep the the computer again. I should have ask if they had a set amount of time to correct problems that should have been fixed before you drove it off the lot.

11. I don't know
but anyway, this is a fault that developed quite recently, and long after I bought it. It's still under warranty, or was at the time I took it in (the warranty ran out yesterday) so they will fix it for free, and since it's a defect they would fix it for free even if it weren't under warranty. I have no problem with the car going wrong, almost all cars do after a while. What annoys me is the dealer's unbelievable uselessness!

4. Do you guys have lemon laws?
That is you can get your money back or get another car if the vehicle is no good?

Sorry, you're having a rough time Billy.

5. The vehicle's ok
apart from the fault, which is apparently a defect, but it's three years old so I'm not complaining about that. It's the dealer. It isn't as if they've tried to fix it; they haven't even taken it in yet! And now they made me four hours late for work today, I'm totally fuming. :grr:

12. Get all up in their ass.
This whole mess up is their fault ( a new car with something wrong? HELLO!) and they should be RUSHING to make amends. GET UP THEIR ASS AND DON"T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. BE A BITCH. Really. Sorry; but it works. I hate it too....

14. Still...
You know; if they want your repeat biz (possibly next time you would buy a new car; how do they know? CUSTOMER SERVICE!) they should stand by everything they sell! It's not like cars are flying off the lots these days. If they are not treating you well they are idiots...financially and personally.

17. Exactly
I have no problem with the brand of car, and I would buy one when I am next up for a new car.

But since they are the only dealer for that make in the area, that is now a powerful reason NOT to get that kind of car in the future.

18. i guess dealers around the world stink
my sisters month old mini cooper needed a clutch part. it took six weeks to get it, then a week to install it. on a car with 3-4thousand miles on. they made two payments while the car was sitting on the dealers lot, undrivable.

they were told that they hadn't made replacement parts yet, because new clutches shouldn't be worn out so soon. (the parts were defective, nothing to do with regular wear and tear) they never explained why they couldn't get one fed-ex'd from the factory in 6 weeks.

20. that's what they told the dealership
the dealer couldn't explain how a brand new clutch part in the factory was any different than the brand new clutch part for a repair.
