Finished my last final... Free at last! Free at last!!!
Well, for about a month though. :)

I already have big reading plans and everything. The next few days I am going to take care of some housing business that needs to be done, but other than that I have absolutely nothing to do until mid-January. I plan on watching Syriana in the next few days, and am wading my way through the fourth season of 24 right now. I have 3 books ordered from the library, "Cinderella Man" by Jeremy Schaap, "If The River Was Whiskey" by T. Coraghessan Boyle, and "Custer Died For Your Sins" by Vine Deloria, plus I may finish on of the ones I have around here, as well.

I plan on watching Ken Burn's Civil War documentary, and getting some writing done too. I love breaks!!!!!

1. Well, good for you. Rest and recharge, and enjoy.
Everybody could use a break once in a while. Once you're done with college and out in the workplace, it usually takes surgery to let you catch up on reading and movies.

So enjoy, as I said.

15. I always think I can find time
to do my own personal reading and stuff during the semester. Wrong! So I imagine it's even tougher when you have a regular work schedule. I'm looking forward to doing some things though. Still doing some work, but my like my own personal creative stuff.

2. Make time for a trip to the desert musuem if you can arrange a ride.
Lovely this time of year.

We are an island here in Tiny Town, MT. Drifted snow to the east AND west. Emergency travel only once you go a few miles in either direction (and north/south not potions due to no roads) Glad we laid in supplies last week! Enjoy your weather there. :hi:

14. that's a good idea
I should take my Uncle there, he'd love it.

Yeah, my parents tell me it's pretty cold back home. I don't miss the blizzards by any means. :) Although, I will tell you, I always enjoyed waking up to a warm fire and some hot coffee. I think it's nice to be snowed in for a day and just kick back, relax, bullshit the family and maybe catch up on some sports or whatever may be on tv that day. I'm really a homebody anyway, so I dig that sort of thing.

3. Hooray!
Relax and enjoy! I usually got sick on breaks, especially the Christmas break. Probably because I was working full time and going to school full time -- my body would go into breakdown when given half a chance! But I hope you get to do the things you want to do, and just enjoy the hell out of your time off! :pals:

16. my idea of enjoying my time off
is pure leisure. Reading, writing, watching films. Lots of people go out and party and run around like crazy. I just like to chill out and get some personal space. :)

No spanking? WTF? :)

17. I did ok
probably not as good as I should have. I have issues with the score I got on one of my papers, but other than that I ended up ok, I'm sure.

Oh, I plan on having a blast. A blast for me is having a little extra sleep and reading time. :) Not too wild nowadays.

6. I had the same feeling last Thursday.
Now, I have a little gravy to add to it. I was worried I would have a B in Precalculus Algebra, but I made all A's again. Hopefully, I can keep it up and win a scholarship. I'd like to get a bachelor's degree, if possible. Fingers crossed.

Congrats on being done too in time for the holidays. We should throw a virtual party for those who have to stay in classes or have finals as late as Dec. 23rd. And some do, sadly.

7. Congrats!! I took my last final in 1984
Now I have a kid in high school who needs help preparing for his midterms. I've spent the week reading his Science book and Romeo and Juliet :(.

18. haha
Just when you thought you were totally out of the woods you have to go and read all that stuff again.

I once rewrote Romeo and Juliet into a contemporary play. Modernized it. We then had a big production and our class acted it out for the general public. It was fun.

19. yes, but it will be such a relief when you're done
it's like pulling off a bandaid, you just have to do it as quickly and painlessly as possible. Sure it sucks, but it's all good when you're done. :)

24. It will, indeed.
Regardless of my last two exams, less than 48 hours from now, I'll be back in civilization. For a month.

That's what I'm focusing on right now.

10. not much of a drinker nowadays
I may have a beer or two at lunch tomorrow or whenever I go eat with my uncle, that's about it. We're scheduled to go check out Syriana and drain a few aftewards.

I'm more of a hardcore caffeine junkie myself. :)

20. I hope I didn't
I probably could have studied more for the one I took today, I don't know how much of a difference it would have made as the questions are so weirdly phrased and so on. He don't really cover them in his lectures or in the readings. It's kind of hit and miss. But, I probably did pretty well on it. I'll see.

21. never finished learning
I actually learn way more on my own then I do from school. I read and think more when I'm out of class rather then in it.

13. Hey! Good for you!
I'll never forget my first semester last final. Left the room, went out into the sunlight and just sat.

Sproul Plaza sort of waffled and swam, lol, right in front of these bleary eyes.

Happy bathrobe days to you.

22. now if I can just finish my damn degree
it's been a mess, I had to take a year off to get resident tuition, had to go part-time for a while. Blah, I'll be glad when I get it all over with.

23. Just take your time off and let the future take care of itself.
When I went back to school, I had a hubby and two boys in grammar school. But, right after finals, they ALL knew I needed a coupla bathrobe days with video games, and damn, I deserved them. Lol.

It's always a mess for everybody. The trick is to only pay attention to the messes you enjoy.

You go!
