Spielberg's new film "Munich"

Screenplay by Tony Kushner. Could be a very good film. I'm looking forward to it.

Some excellent films this holiday season.

1. What I don't understand is that its about what happens after

2. Well, most of the terrorists were killed that day, the ones that weren't

with one exception were hunted down by Mossad agents and assassinated. I believe Mossad found and assassinated some of the planners that weren't there as well.

9. They also killed an innocent waiter who resembled Ali Hassan Salameh

Where was that, Switzerland? I forget. Killed him at a ski resort. They thought he was the Red Prince. There was hell to pay. Several agents arrested and charged, though they got out after brief sentences.

3. I'm also looking forward to seeing it.

4. I admit I was a bit worried ...

...when I heard there was a film which looked at the punishment meted out to the surviving terrorists and planners. I was worried that it might be some kind of jingoistic "smoke 'em out" triumphal rant (or construed as such by the pro-war side) -- even if Spielberg were at the helm.

But if Tony Kushner is the lead writer ... I trust his judgement. There is bound to be a lot of soul-searching in this production, and I don't think he's going to let anyone off easily.

Least of all himself.

6. I saw a trailer of sorts a couple of weeks ago

and it looks very strong and interesting and a hopeful return to form for Spielberg.

8. There was a mini-series about this about 10 years ago...

A team of 4 or 5 Mossad agents originally had 10 or 11 names of terrorists and planners and were sent to assassinate them. As they get closer to wiping them all out, the Israeli government starts adding more names.

That's when things get dicey.

All and all, it's a very sad story. I won't tell you what happened in the mini-series, just in case I spoil the movie.

I'm not going to be seeing it.

10. Kushner's one of thesmartest and best writers

in the English language today. I would see it just because he wrote it.
