We'll never have perfection, but I wish they'd take ME back, THAT was a piece of shit test bed for 2000/XP. Nothing sucked more than that band aid crap.

8. Wonderful new PC's for $300 with monitor
Some friends just bought the Dell, so happy they cry every time it boots up. I helped them toss their 5 year old PII into the recycle dumpster, and then we had a burning of the leaf goodbye ceremony.

They paid the amazing price of $2200 plus tax in 1999 for a Packard Bell 10GB 64MB 350PII WIN98 at CostCo.

The new one is a Dell 40GB, 512MB, 3.0gHZ with a 17" monitor. $355 with tax and partial shipping and free Lexmark printer.

12. Thank you for the info.
I have a Dell, also. I bought it 2 years ago. So far, so good )knock wood) But I hate Windows ME. A piece of crap. It's sure as hell not going to last forever.

I was thinking of getting a Mac, actually.

13. Good lord.
I'm just waiting for laptops to drop in price like that. I'd love to find a nice notebook even a decent refurbished one that was upgradeable.

16. Best Buys and Staples and the "W" store have had nice HP notes
at $400.00. The "W" one is the one they knocked $22 off and it caused riots.

Stupid Federalists.

I remember the 'stone age' very well. And when they invented a harddisk with a 1 MB capacity. For an IBM AT, it did cost around $1,000 or so. W00t!

21. oooh, Oooh, even better
Company I worked for 1992, boss wanted more space for letters on his XT, IBM offered a 4mb hd for it. We paid $4600.00 for it. 4 mb ram was $2500 for PS 2's forever.

I had paid $12000 for my car a few years eariler. Amazing what volume can do for pricing.
