Pryor was profane at times.

So is Chris Rock.

Both are geniuses, though I dare say Chris Rock's use of profanity is usually more calculated...

Many comedians simply think that only crude language is funny. Ditto for excessive body function and body part jokes. Throwing in a few unrelated political jabs doesn't do much to save 'em either.
