I can tell you that right now I am receiving thousands of email messages from his fans every couple of minutes. I am saving them for his wife and kids for later. It has been a sad and hectic day for all.

For my birthday on the 7th, I received an autographed poster from Mr. Pryor, probably the last autograph he ever did. I can't tell you how much I am going to treasure that signature. As weak as he was and to still do that for me. It is a work of art!

Thank you sasquatch, for this memorial thread. If anyone would like to send a message to Mr. Pryor's family, send it to richard@richardpryor.com.

2. My birhtday was yesterday, this sucks
Jon Lennon was shot to death 12 hours before I was born and now this. This is why I hate my birthday.

4. I hear ya. My uncle also died today...
and my grandfather 30 years ago today. I can't tell you how much I hate this day.

Death is a part of life and we all have to go there someday. Richard Pryor spent his whole life looking for that unconditional love, which he finally found and he was also looking for peace within himself. I think he found that today. Jennifer said when he passed there was a smile on his face.

9. That'll be a awesome lounge act in heaven
Jon Lennon and Jimi Hendrix playing a song or two and then Richard Pryor coming out and doing 10 minutes of comedy.

10. Rest in peace and free from suffering, Richard Pryor.

13. Classic.
I get a kick out of thinking that Richard and Clean Gene are meeting for the first time and saying to each other, "Man, you were the shit!"
