So I just watched Videodrome for the first time...
..and Lost Highway is looking pretty lucid at the moment by comparison. Holy Christ, I feel like I was just put through an exorcism.

1. Have you ever seen Cronenberg's "CRASH"???
There's an unrated version that will make you go completely insane...

5. That movie rules...
The story is an absolute TRIP. The execution near-perfect. Very convincingly creepy for something so utterly asinine on paper. + Debbie Harry topless ...

It's friggin badass...

8. It's a fantastic satire
"Hello, I'm Barry Convex, president of Spectacular Optical, an enthusiastic global corporate citizen. We make inexpensive eyeglasses for the Third World, and missile guidance systems for NATO."

I was first introduced to the film many years ago via the basic-cable version. With all the cuts for content, the film is even more jarring and disjointed (if that's possible) but there are a couple of scenes in it that should have stayed in the theatrical cut, like the scene that explains how Videodrome was created as a VR combat simulator, but abandoned becuase it caused hallucinations.

I always found it weird that James Woods could star in movies like this and Salvador and somehow turn into a Repuke in all but name...
