I can't imagine a vacation worse than a cruise: it is like being locked in a hotel.
In a loud, smallish hotel without much in the way of fresh food.


Beach house, spring break - that sounds like my sort of gig :D .

But the ingredients have to come from somewhere, and usually that's an onboard freezer.

Compare that to a beach house in the Gascogne or Burgundy, where it is almost an art not to get great fresh products. Sure, you'd have to talk to locals and wouldn't really be able to skip visiting a few old castles or the Bilbao Guggenheim and so on with a clear conscience.

And remember: Considering GD, being surrounded by lots of water my sound like a good idea, but flames on a ship are actually a big problem :D
