Three glorious weeks.
I have three weeks off from school to play on the computer and party in the Lounge and lounge around at home and oh my, I am elated. I made my first B, I think, but I don't really care. I am just so happy that this semester is over and gone. I hated it. It was the worst semester I have ever had. Ptooey. I wash my hands of it. It's in the past now. I'm looking forward....

to my wonderful glorious three weeks away from that germs ridden test giving noisy place.

:hi:

2. Thank you kindly.
I'm going to party my ass off too. I haven't done that in years. Considering my hard work earned me a B this semester despite my best efforts, I see it as a que that I have been working way too hard and not enjoying life as much as I possibly can. Aaaaaaah. The sweet smell of a "soup on a cold day" and some "pleasure reading" here on DU. I sense happiness abounds in my time off. :hi:

I still have about two weeks left...then I'll be home for about a month (in which that time I will not be on DU :()

This is also the worst semester of college I've ever had. Next semester will be even worse. :(

4. Here is what I did to make this week stop going by so slowly.
This little trick actually works to some degree too. I imagined myself laying on the couch watching my favorite movie and sleeping all warm in my bed all day long. The day had been dragging on, but when I started picturing myself back at home, it made the day go by much faster. Next thing I knew, I was home and through with this crazy screwed up semester. Who knows? It might work for you too.

5. I do that now.
I lay in my bed all day, watching tv and whatnot.

I need to study. :D

6. Lucky you. Eight days left for me.
I just want it to be over. This has been the semester from hell. Three classes (out of five) that I absolutely loathe. :scared:

7. I had exactly the same amount, well
two that I loathed and one that was just a pain in the ass. The one that was a pain in the ass was an online class that I needed to still go to the school to do the assignments. The software wasn't included with the useless $200 textbook. One of the two I hated was the math class that I think I ended up blowing my GPA even though I studied what little I understood of the teacher's instructions.

10. You sure we don't have the same math teacher?
My calc professor suuuuucks. Completely clueless--can't teach worth a damn. I'm incredibly glad I'll be done with upper-level math in the next few days.

11. Either we have the same calc "teacher"
or they were trained at the same math torturer academy. The class I was referring to was called "Precalculus Algebra" and the teacher was more like a coach, a lazy sorry one at that. Asking him a question actually made me understand less than I did before I asked him. Our school doesn't have any math tutors in that level of math either. So I was pretty much on my own. This guy went so fast and mumbled half the time. When he did teach, he skipped steps, still went too fast, and didn't explain much of what he was doing. He really confused me. I have to take "Precalculus Trigonometry" under him next semester too because he is the only one teaching it. I'm doomed.

12. My dad's a math teacher,
and if it weren't for him, I'd be failing the class, without a doubt. I've called him many a day, sobbing hysterically.

But it's almost over. *sighs happily*

16. Lucky you.
I do know a math teacher, but I sort of got on her nerves by being around so much a few semesters ago. I didn't want to annoy her. Plus I wanted to see if I could do it on my own. Well, I halfway did it, I guess. I sure would have liked to have understoor what I was doing though.

8. There is no shame in a B!
I think college is where most people get knocked down a grade or two. Just think of it as a reminder that there will always be others who will know more, work harder, or sleep around to get a better grade. :)

13. Sleep around and get a better grade is more like it.
I can't honestly say anyone worked any harder than I did. Maybe a tie with another girl who had a 4.0 average going into the math class. He would not let her drop and take the class later either. He made her stay through to the end and take a B. She is on a type of financial aid where she needs to have A's or she can't continue in college. I mean he basically screwed her. I didn't ask to drop. I figured I would stick it out and just be done with the nightmare.

I will be able to relax much more now if it turns out (and I think it will) that I have my first B. I can lay back and float through instead of working so hard from now on. Imperfection will be my goal after that. I'll still try to learn as much as I can, but I won't be up at 2:00 a.m. doing homework when I have to be in class at 8:00 a.m. if I can help it. That was too much for me. I spent more time trying to get through the day and not fall asleep on the way to and from school.

14. I intend to make the best of it.
I have already perched myself in front of the computer with several tabs open in my browser just a reading and typing and laughing. I should probably be locked up in an asylum for a day or two because I think I am going crazy with the relief. You know how it feels to finally get some relief and you just want to bounce off the walls laughing like Daffy Duck? Well, that might just be me. :P

But, alas, we're hitting the books 'til the 23rd! How outrageous is that??

*sighs*

17. Wow, your school sounds like a sweat shop.
Has anyone pointed out to them that they are being intolerant toward the holidays?

22. Ours do that too, but they do give us
a decent holiday this time of year. Of course, we are on a semester system not a quarter system, so that could play a role.

23. Super congrats!!
Mine doesn't start until the 15th. I feel bad for some of my fellow bio majors though, their last exams (genetics, organic chem) are on the 22nd. Sucks to be them. :hi: I think this was a shitty semeseter all around, because no one I knew enjoyed it.
