Ahnold’s accent MUST be an affectation.

Most native German speakers I’ve run into speak English with much less of a German accent than he does.

I have to admit I haven’t listened to him a lot. I haven’t seen any of his movies.

1. Well, he is Austrian, does that make a difference?

Someone from Germany works in my office, and she definitely has less of an accent.

I can't recall ever meeting someone from Austria, though.

Austrians do have a funny accent, even when speaking German. But Arnold just sounds artificial, especially considering that he's barely able to speak German at all.
