Unfortunately, he tends to be an analyst on a lot of my team's games. Yikes. He's also been accused of being in love with my team, its coach and players (especially No. 4)... those in the know will know what I'm talking about.

I met him once when I was at NC State and he was interviewing Jim Valvano, in Jimmy V's last year or so of his life. He and I exchanged a couple of words in Italian and he was super nice. He was not snobbish at all. I told him that though I went to State, my team was in Durham and he said something funny I can't remember now.

Some one should tell you who fouled and how many team fouls a team has. This moron just chatters away about stuff unrelated to the game. Some say he's great because of his enthusiasm. Fine. Then ESPN should have a show featuring this motormouth moron and don't allow him to screw up a game telecast. I'd call the show.... "Dick Vital, the screaming, raving idiot show." I won't watch it, either.

Just keeps this raving asshole off the telecasts of games I'm trying to watch.

But for years I have found our local radio coverage much better than the tv coverage (and the team, having some national repute, gets a bit of tv coverage - even in down years.) I have been known to watch the game on tv with the volume OFF and have the radio on. Vitale is among the WORST of the tv folks.

Yea. That's a good reason for him to fail to do his job and talk about the game at hand. He fails to give the name of the player that committed the foul nor keeps you informed of team fouls. Talks about someother game or issue but not the game being telecast. He flunks hoops broadcasting 101. He RUINS the broadcast..... but let's keep his incompetent ass because..... "he loves the game." It's just he doesn't love it enough to broadcast it correctly.

I'd love to meet him in an airport and tell him how much he ruins my enjoyment due to his asshole-ness.

15. He was throwing off the entire broadcast team yesterday.

Throwing it to the sideline reporter when he wasn't supposed to, interrupting with inane comments. I can't stand seeing him at games.

And you can bet, he only does the games where Duke, UNC, Michigan St, or UConn are playing (which is unfortunate, since I am in ACC country)
