HTML help please!
I am at a bit of a loss. I'm trying to add a form to an
as-yet-non-live blog (I'm using it as a test site), and I
can't seem to figure out how to get it to submit.

Specifically, I'd like it to do two things:
1. Send the form contents to my e-mail address when the user
hits "submit."
2. Send the user back to the main page when he/she's done.

What to I put in the <FORM METHOD="POST"
ACTION="?"> part, or in the "submit"
part of the code?

I admit I'm an HTML novice (OK, I'm an HTML idiot who would
benefit from the "HTML for Idiots" series), so any
help would be appreciated. The blog software isn't WYSIWIG, so
I need to use code (I think). Thanks.

1. You'll likely need to check what the blog tells you to do

The form is set up in HTML, but it's the server side (could be CGI, or PHP or something else) that actually processes the form and sends it out to you. The emailing part is not done in the HTML.

Your blog server shouuld have it set up so you can do right in the HTML, but you very well may need to ask them what specific command to include. It won't be a generic "applicable to all web writing the world over" HTML code.

That could explain why it spins and goes nowhere...
Thanks.

Edited to add that I guess I can't use a free blog page to test HTML that might differ on a different server. Sigh...

3. a quick fix
make the action read "mailto:youraddress@here.com" (with your email address) and it will send most of your submissions. Not secure, and may scare people away, but it's simple.

Otherwisee, you will need to install a cgi script to handle the form, or link to your ISPs existing one.
