Norton Anti-Virus: Renew or Ignore?
I guess my NAV expired and I have this annoying flashing light at the bottom of my screen, but it says my firewall and everything else still works. But I'm not protected against "these rapidly spreading threats"

What to do...

2. Kill it ...
If you're intent on paying for anti-virus software, go with McAfee.

If you're not, try AVG or one of the several free, excellent anti-virus tools available.

3. Pointless, plus if you have comcast cable internet, you get McAfee for
free.

Also, as others have said, you can get some free kinds that work as well.

6. Norton AV is the worst anti-virus program
Not only does it miss viruses, but it uses sooo much system resources that it slows down the entire PC. Junk in my opinion!
I use McAfee VirusScan.

9. I'm Kaspersky fan, myself
Norton will let shit go undetected for months, if not years.

Norton doesn't count most trojan horses as viruses because they don't do any specific damage to your machine - aside from allowing someone access to all your files.

Norton = Wal*Mart - cheap + saturation = more business

Try this program out. It is good and best of all free for 90 days. Use the home edition. After that, register it at no cost and use it forever. You will notice a considerable difference in the performance of your computer.

8. Ignore. Trend is the BEST pay-for product out there... AVG is good too...
but if you like the idea of getting updates 1~3 times DAILY, Trend gives you your money's worth.
