Just saw Harry Potter - tell me what you though of it!
My opinion... best special effects of the series, but worst story

1. I loved it all the way around. My favorite one thus far.
I enjoyed the story, but the effects were great.

6. Already seen it twice.
It's great! We went after opening day, and again yesterday. Both days the theater was slam packed.

7. I liked it.
I don't think it's the "worst" story, but it was a little hard to follow sometimes. But the special effects were terrific. A bit dark and scary for small children, though.

8. It's interesting that you say "worst story"
because I think book 4 has the strongest story and the strongest plot.

But it seems like every fan has totally different tastes and opinions.

Vive le difference! :hi:

10. **spoiler alert***
disclaimer: haven't read the books. In any case, what pisses me off about the HArry Potter character (at least the way he is depicted in the movies) is that he is a child of fortune and is really a shitty wizard when everything boils down to it. His friends are constantly saving his ass and the only way he gets past the wizard trials is by cheating. Not a very good lesson there. Hermione is a much better role model since she is smart, studies hard, cares abotu her friends and doesn't turn on them bc she is either obsessed with them or is just plain jealous (insert either about Weasley) AND she gets the hot guy. Another thing is, I don't really buy the whole "you have to risk your life as well as the lives of your friends and family for a stupid contest" angle. all that aside, nice special effects.

11. saw it yesterday
the Prisoner Of A movie was better, IMO.

But this one had so much action to get through, and I think they did that well. GOF is so dark and sinister in many ways, and I think that came across clearly. There wasn't as much time to allow the characters to come through in this one.

Note: I love Fred and George. And wow, was Neville tall!

12. Loved it but missed the house elves...
I wish they could fit more of the back story into the movies than just extended battle scenes. I think it was the best one so far. I had heard the the special effects were cheesy but I thought they were great and that's something that always kills a movie for me.
