I was trying to julienne some parsnips using my mandoline, and my finger got at the wrong angle to the blade.

Whoosh!

It came in at an oblique angle, and I let out a loud gasp of terror.

Not as bad as it could have been. reprehensor got me into the bathroom quickly, ran me under cold water and peroxide.

Because it was hanging so loose, we sanitized a cuticle clipper and lopped the nasty part off. It could have been worse. Then we put some Neosporin and a nice comfy bandage.

I had to supervise most of the rest of the cooking. And we never got the parsnip/apple puree made. But the rest of it turned out pretty good.

I have the little small size, but I really wanted to try to do more at a time.

When I get a job again, I'm going to get a really HUGE Kitchen Aid or a Cuisinart chopper. It sucks having to do everything in multiple small batches.

Cut the tip off my finger (skin only) while trimming flowers. It wouldn't stop gushing - and I had to call one of my church people to drive me to the ER.

Felt like friggin' Julia Child, I did. :)
