Foiled again! Wildcats paint school colors on A Mountain

Arizona State University students had an elaborate battle plan.
They even camped out until 4 a.m. Monday to protect
the gold "A'' on A Mountain.

But by the time they downed breakfast, the "A'' was trying
on the red and blue of the University of Arizona. Again.

It's an annual ritual in the in-state rivalry, a decades-old
tradition that survives year after year, even as the Valley
continues to grow.

The 50-year-old landmark, which stands guard atop the butte
by Sun Devil Stadium, was constructed by the ASU student
government to show passersby that Tempe was Sun Devil-land.
The U of A backers apparently changed that sometime
between 5 a.m. and first light.

1. Glad to hear the tradition stands!
Red & Blue in Tempe! And next year, keep that White A white in Tucson! Love it.

We were taking baseboards out last Saturday when his Griz were playing (BADLY) Unhappy radical fan with a hammer. NOT a good thing ;)

Hey, I have the football field placemarked on my Google Earth. It shows Griz-land REALY well. The 3-D thing is a trip.

Enjoy the weather down there. Is this your first Thanksgiving in the Baked Pueblo? Are they still talking showers?
