Poll question: Have you ever smoked pot?
Just a nice little (hopefully) non-controversial poll.

1. Yes and my parents
Edited on Wed Nov-23-05 07:04 PM by ...of J.Temperance
I still do smoke pot every now and then.

I should also like to point out, that I FIRST smoked pot with my parents. My Momma gave me a joint, when I was 14 years-old and we all just sat there and smoked joints.

I love my parents, they're so hip and cool, I'm VERY lucky to have such open-minded and enlightened parents.

On Edit: Parents added.

One would be the carberator... OMG, it was soooo fun. Talk about being toasted.

Even now, give me a toilet paper roll, some foil, and 20 seconds - bong. Or a Coke can -- bong!

The good all days when a huge bagful would only be a small fine and a slap on the wrist....

Another thing, Grasshopper: hemostats make great roach clips. Just expect a call from your parental unit asking where the hell their hemostats went and to mail them back TOMORROW. When they do call, don't laugh and say you don't have them while you're also taking a hit from a joint while using same hemostats.

87. I am laughing so hard
Somewhere around here I have a tape of me and two friends eating something while we were stoned. This tape is about 30 years old.

I listened to it once, and it was so incredibly boring and stupid, I got embarrassed. But, it was also so funny, I cried.

Now, I just realized that one of the guys on that tape has left this earthly domain, and I can hear his voice again, if I dare to play that tape.

I might. It might be nice..........

Pharmaceutical industry, Synthetics industry, Prison and jail industry. They all profit well by keeping pot illegal.
As long as "silly" American voters buy into the spin on this topic supported by these industries then pot will remain 'demonized'.

24. Never have smoked it....
Never really had the right opportunity presented to me. It was either offerred in the wrong place,(college dorm) or at the wrong time(when I was really, really drunk). Now it's a liability for me to try it, my curiousity is not worth getting caught and having a devil of a time finding a place to teach.

Edited on Wed Nov-23-05 07:21 PM by nini
I had a somewhat brutal procedure and the doctor said to smoke a joint to help with the pain. That was the only time. I don't quite get the mass appeal to where I risk legal hassles, but to each his own.

33. How about some lyrics?
BEN HARPER LYRICS

"Burn One Down"

Let us burn one from end to end,
And pass it over to me my friend.
Burn it long, we'll burn it slow,
To light me up before I go.

If you don't like my fire, then don't come around,
'cause I'm gonna burn one down.
Yes, I'm gonna burn one down.

My choice is what I choose to do,
And if I'm causing no harm, it shouldn't bother you.

Your choice is who you choose to be,
And if you're causin' no harm, then you're alright with me.

If you don't like my fire, then don't come around,
'cause I'm gonna burn one down.
Yes, I'm gonna burn one down.

Herb the gift from the earth,
And what's from the earth is of the greatest worth.
So before you knock it try it first,
Oh, you'll see it's a blessing and not a curse.

If you don't like my fire, then don't come around,
'cause I'm gonna burn one down.
Yes, I'm gonna burn one, oohhh.

Are you gellin? :)

Olaf

I'd be all for its legalization and all, but it has no appeal to me. I've never even taken a puff on a regular cigarette, let alone a marijuana joint. And, while I occasionally drink alcohol (as in a few drinks a year), I never have been drunk.

I don't miss it at all really; I lost interest in it, but I'm all for legalizing it.

edit: sometimes I think it would great to have some for my horrible neck pain before i go to bed. but I have no idea where I'd get it. Plus, I can't have it anyway now (bun in the oven).

There are various types of gel packs or buckwheat collars you can heat in the microwave and wrap in a towel. I have also had good results wrapping a heating pad around a sausage shaped pillow and just sitting back on it.

92. Once,
on my 30th birthday. An old friend said I needed to experience pot once before I got too old and stodgy to appreciate it. So I shared a joint with her in her car, out of sight of my hubby and kids. I had to go to a PTA meeting shortly afterwards and was pleasantly floating. Unfortunately, I won the door prize, a frozen turkey, and I stumbled up the stage steps to get it and fell down them afterwards. The turkey went up in the air, then it fell on my shin, breaking it.

That was the only time I ever smoked pot.

It's an herb that is no more harmful than eating catnip. It should be legal and available to all that want it.It's so much safer than alcohol and it actually opens areas in your brain that the government wants to keep shut off so that you cant think for yourself.

105. Memories... light the corners of my mind...
munchies.. oh yeah... and am I the only one who got a bad case of the "hornies" too? Although I had a few friends both as a teen and later as an adult that were I was never super big on it but once in a while it was nice to sit back and chill... it worked better then liquor for me. ::sigh:: gosh but it's been years and I sure could use a buzz but we have too much to lose so I don't dare. :(

My husband used Peyote ceremonially once, he never smoked pot. He was always very much the Eagle Scout and then he married me. :-D Now he says if it were legal he'd try it if for no other reason then it is said to help ease his severe and disabling pain when nothing else has.

As my daughters were growing up I discussed smoking pot, drinking and other drugs realistically with them. I told them the facts, both plus and minus, and that although I'd prefer that they waited to try any drugs until after they were "adults" I'd be cool if they did before hand.

IMO there truly isn't any reason to have pot illegal while alcohol and ciggies are not. If the pot you get is the pure stuff it's a lot less harmful as well and for some who are disabled or ill it's a medicinal "miracle". The later is the aspect that ticks me off the most. They have all kinds of "legal" drugs that are a whole lot harsher on the body and mind then and don't work as well as pot and yet they get prescribed like they're candy and why? Because pot is super easy to grow and use so the big pharm companies can't make beau coup bucks from it? Pfft!

118. My last pot story:
The last time I *remember* smoking was about 4 years ago. My wife and I went to the drive-in to see a double feature. We lit up right there....as is what everyone who smokes pot at the drive-in does. We smoked before the first movie began and fell asleep. We slept like babies on a blanket on the ground in front of our car through BOTH movies. Woke up, and EVERYONE was gone! We were sooooo thirsty...I woke up first and tilted the cooler we had sodas in, (the ice had melted) and shamelessy gulped as much water as I could. My wife then woke up and I passed the cooler. We had a good laugh, and decided that we shouldnt smoke before the movie starts! LOL! We were too tired to leave so we went back to sleep and woke up later as the sun was rising and a cleanig crew was picking up trash.

145. Don't bogart that joint, my friend
pass it over to me! It's probably been 25 years since I smoked pot. I absolutely love the smell! Even after I stopped smoking, if someone had some I would stick my nose in the bag and take a huge whiff! Yummmmm!

One summer my friend and I must have gained 30 lbs. each going for hot fudge sundaes every day! And we always had to have fruit flavored Certs to munch on.

And of course, there was the time that I was out with my sister and was so stoned that all I could think about was getting home and getting to bed. So, naturally, as soon as I walked in the door - AT MY PARENT'S HOUSE - I thought I was in my bedroom and started taking my clothes off!!! Yes, Mom was right there to see it!

I also remember when you could get an ounce of very, very good stuff for $20. That WAS a long time ago!!! :smoke:
