1. My high school mascot was "Rebels"
So, Darn tootin' I used to be a Rebel.
At least until I graduated.

Note: this was in the Chicago area, and the name was not in any way racist, but was based on the fact that when they opened the school in the '60's they were trying a whole new method of teaching high school in a less structured way, more like college.
Based on my h.s. education in the 70's, I'd say the experiment failed.

2. I don't think you can say "darn tootin'" and qualifiy as a "rebel,"
in the stereotypical sense. That's like saying, "Gee whillikers, I'm a dirty little slut!":P

11. Johnny Cash sang the Johnny Yuma theme song...
So he was REALLY a Rebel. Because being a Rebel was cool--forget that "Spirit of the Confederacy" crap.

I even like Rebel Yell Bourbon--for my rare adventures into Bourbon-land. That Flag has been gone for the label a long time now.

17. Nope, not armed, just dangerous
I'm going to watch my cousin at a comedy club on Friday. I hear he's pretty good.

The extended family I'm visiting are all republicans, but we have a saying that shuts us all down. "How 'bout that Weather Channel". It's code for not now, not EVER.
