Both my mom and dad are rebublican. My mom is a huge * supporter. We can't talk about politics at all. We just talk about my kids and stay away from other topics if possible.

The last time I went to visit my parent's house, they had a picture of * on the mantle next to the pictures of the family. I almost puked. So when my Mom came to visit this summer, I made sure to have our Kerry for President sign out in sight. We, too, have to tiptoe around topics or a fight will break out.

Ronald Reagan took care of that when he told fundies that it's moral to save the unborn babies, and moral to let the born ones live or die by their mom or/and dads choices. If Democrats ever take back Michigan the first thing I want funded is a study of how many children were raped and/or killed because John Engler de-funded social services for tax give backs, and established the slogan "Michigan isn't in the business of breaking up families". Blanchard knew that some families needed to be broken up but that costs money.

14. I would venture a guess that violence against children

has gone up since then. Iowa's the same way. We've have slash and burn repugs running things for so long that the only Dems that can get in the governor's seat are conservative Dems. Why we can't have all that $$$ go to those touchy-feely social programs like the DHS or the EPA. But it's simply amazining how they get up in arms when they find human waste floating in Clear Lake or a baby's found in a dumpster.
