A dog peed on my homework.
true story
In high school I left my books and notebooks sitting on the ground while I and a couple of other guys snuck around the corner for an illicit smoke.

A dog came walking through the schoolyard, sniffed at my books, and raised his leg and peed all over them. I didn't know what to do, so I just left them there. The next period I was supposed to turn in a paper for English. When I told my teacher why I didn't have the paper I thought she would split a gut. It took several minutes to get the class under control again. She said it would be OK for me to recopy it and turn it in the next day. There were no such thing as plastic bags back then, so I took my books home wrapped in several layers of newspaper.

What's YOUR excuse?

2. My new dog peed on an oriental rug this morning.
I don't have an excuse. I wasn't suppose to have him in that room. Mrs. D. is going to be pissed. I put Nature's Miricle on it. Maybe it will be OK by the time she gets home next week.

3. My husband's German Shepherd chewed up his chemistry book.
He left his books stacked on his saxaphone case in the driveway to go hunt up the key to get in the house. He came back around the house and she had already chewed his book beyond recognition.
Chemistry teacher was rolling her eyes,(while the class was rolling in the aisles) until she actually saw the book, then the book became a school-wide 7-minute wonder. Still funny, looking back on it. :)

5. Once a student told me he didn't practice because his dog ate his violin
I nearly died when he took his instrument out with fang marks all over the neck. They had to reglue the fingerboard onto the neck.

7. My cat barfed on the best painting I ever did.
Acrylic on paper, and I had it partially under some books to flatten it out so I could photograph it. She got it right in the middle, too.

I cried like a baby, and my mom thought I was being irrational. I've never painted anything that good before or since, though.
