Thanksgiving should not be a time for strange cruelty imho...

Betsy's partner is going to her parents for thanksgiving. Her partner's parents love Betsy dearly. It's her 'partner' that doesn't want Betsy to go.

How can people be so cruel? Betsy's father was a preacher, who used to make her kneel in their basement reciting bible passages until her knees bled, to occasion the occasional whipping & beating, the scars of which she still carries on her body & in her mind. And all for being a lesbian. Her 'partner' knows this...

Betsy did meet a friend. A clothes buyer girlfriend for Betsy, with her own apartment in NYC. Her parents live in San Francisco; and she is coming out for Thanksgiving and HER parents AND her have invited Betsy for Thanksgiving supper = too cool B-)

Sometimes it doesn't even matter. Sometimes it is best to simply step around them.

Betsy & I live in the same town, we work together and we pal around every chance we get, which are many (can you imagine, her partner was actually getting strange when her & I were saying, "love you" to each other while closing a phone call, sheesh); though I'd enjoy meeting her new friend, so maybe we'll hook-up something on a day-trip.
