Security Guard Who Saw Ghosts Eligible For Unemployment

Here's an out-of-this-world reason you can't be denied unemployment benefits in Des Moines: seeing ghosts on the job.

The issue ended up in court when security guard Wade Gallegos alerted his supervisor at Neighborhood Patrol in September that ghosts were haunting a neighborhood he was guarding.

The supervisor arrived at the scene and Gallegos showed him where the ghosts were still apparently standing. The supervisor claimed he saw nothing and fired Gallegos five hours later.

The company found no signs of drug use or alcohol.

Security people see inexplicable shit all the time. Do we report it? Hell no. This guy is obviously an idiot. The most activity occurs in refurbished colleges, mental facilities and abandoned hospitals. If the property is being redeveloped or to keep curiosity seekers and hooligans at bay, security firms are hired to perform a custodial role and fire watch duties.

My guess is nothing was going on and this particular guy is a whacko.
