Nooooooooooo! (Or 'Missed opportunities suck')
So, I've been hearing wonderful things about Jarhead from you guys on DU  And while I don't have a chance to see the movie for a while, I was thinking about reading the book even though I'm not too big on realistic novels (give me fantasy or scifi anyday :) ). So, I was wandering around the campus bookstore because I needed some flashcards anyways (for katakana and hiragana) and I was looking over the novels and stuff that they sometimes have. Then I noticed.... they had the author of Jarhead on campus over a MONTH AGO!

2. Heinous!
I am doing a reread preperatory to thursday, and I was puzzling over the references to "one more murder" in the opening chapter of GOF. Come to find out in the British version it's "curse"! :wtf:

Also, I know it's not canon, but do you get the feeling that Snape teaches the Slytherins the Dark Arts on the sly?

3. Really? That's strange
Why must they make changes like that? I still cringe when I hear "Sorcerer's Stone" (okay, that may partially be because I love Fullmetal Alchemist, which deals a lot with the Philosopher's Stone), it just sounds dumbed down for American audiences.

Anyways, I personally don't think Snape's quite as evil as JKR would like us to believe. What would be really interesting is if the Slytherins had something like Dumbledore's Army. Only, you know, evil.

5. Yes it would!
Only, I'm working on a non-HP fanfic right now, and I'm really lazy about the one. Imagine how bad I'd be if I tried writing two... they never get finished o.o

6. I've never written a fanfic
though I had an idea for a slashy satirical fanfic heavily plagiarising order of the phoenix. ;)

7. Come to think of it, GoF gets plagiarized too...
Here are the last lines:

For a second, Snape thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore's eyes.

"Severus," said Dumbledore, turning to Snape, "you know what I must ask you to do."
