1. I Always Wash My Hands. And...
... if the restroom door requires me to touch a doorknob, or if it requires me to pull on a handle, I'll use a piece of paper towel or TP to touch the door instead of my bare hands.

-- Allen

P.S. There ought to be a public health law that requires all public restroom doors to be able to PUSH outward. That way I could just use my foot, shoulder, elbow, or knee to exit the restroom.

I'm not sure what it's like in the Ladies' Room, but I very seldom see guys washing their hands. (And if they DO happen to wash, then they touch the SAME doorknob that the guys who refuse to wash have touched. It's all soooooo gross!)

4. I am NOT obsessive-compulsive, BUT
I do know that most disease (colds, flu, viruses) are spread by hand-to-mouth/nose/eyes contact. YOUR hands to YOUR eyes, etc.

I've started carrying an anti-bacterial wipe for the grocery cart handle. I know it's weird, and I try to do it surreptitiously. My daughter started doing this when she thought my grandson might have gotten foot-and-mouth disease there. She had turned her back for a minute and discovered (to her horror) that he had abandoned his teething ring for the cart handle.

p.s. She and her husband came down with it too. They're all fine now.
