1. I picture it as
a seedy whiskey and jazz joint with low lighting, a lot of interesting people and a stage. It's probably in 1920's Harlem.

2. Probably a cross between the common room in a frat house
after a frat party, and a bordello!

Haven't yet figured out where it would be located yet, though.

4. There's a bar in Glasgow, Scotland called Nice 'n' Sleazy
Edited on Sat Nov-12-05 06:58 PM by ...of J.Temperance
It's not too big, it's very dimly lit, it's got a nice pool table, the decor is pretty cool, people who go there are hip without knowing that they're hip...I first saw the FABULOUS band Mogwai there...and I fell asleep during a David Pajo* set there. I dumped boyfriend number 4 in Nice 'n' Sleazy, his name was and is Dan, he was and is Canadian. We've remained great friends.

I think the DU Lounge would physically resemble Nice 'n' Sleazy. I can't find a website, so you can't see inside, but here it is from the outside, it's the building in the middle of the picture:

Here's a closer-up picture of the place:

*David Pajo, a founder member of Slint. The band Slint, from Louisville, Kentucky were FAB. They split up. Formed at least a hundred bands between themselves...David Pajo as Papa M is actually INCREDIBLY boring, thus he made me fall asleep...I think the four straight Tequila's played a part in my falling asleep too ;)

On Edit: The people in the "Who likes The Minutemen?" thread might possibly know of Mogwai and Slint. Apologies to people who don't know what the HECK I'm going on about!

13. Ha!...I'll give you the Oxford Dictionary defination
Shag: coarse. Usually considered a taboo word. 1. Have sexual intercourse with.

There you go. See, NO MENTION of carpets :)

Heck, I love the Oxford Dictionary, EVEN the defination of the phrase:

"Jlow Bob" is included!

What if it's a very coarse carpet?
I've heard rugs say some nasty things over the years.

Of course, I *could* have been drunk at the time...

15. Ah well...I THINK that that particular question
Is possibly going to be answered and indeed defined in the Oxford Dictionary Second Edition Twice Removed.

So...watch THIS space and hold on to your hat...'um, in light of the subject matter above, I THINK the choice of the word "hat" COULD be slightly risque :)

But what the hell.

That's "Ay-behr", not Hee-Bert.
I'm Cajun-by-marriage.

Somehow Hebert DOESN'T sound right pronounced as Hee-bert. But you know, we can't expect EVERYBODY to be as highly educated as you and I are!

But I hate to break it to you this way...it is Thibodaux:
