Never made it before, but I was going by the fishmongers today to order my Thanksgiving turkey (they have the best fresh turkeys there). So I decided to pick up something to make for dinner. My wife always fusses if I get a fish steak or fillet - even though she always ends up liking it - because she thinks she doesn't like fish. I figured if I offered some kind of shellfish she wouldn't complain. The Oyster Stew was a big success. I sauteed about 2 spears of diced celery in about a teaspoon of olive oil. Then I added the liquid from 1 pint of oysters, strained to remove any sand. I brought the liquid to a boil and added paprika, dried mustard, parsley, old bay, tobasco and worcestershire sauce. Then I added the oysters, and a little marsala. Then some butter, cream, flour, and milk. I cooked until warm and added salt and white pepper. Yum yum yum. The cats and dog loved it too.
