Kate Bush's new disk, "Aerial", is pretty damn good.

I've been listening to it quite a bit since it arrived yesterday (preordered it through Amazon).

It's definitely not the "Dreaming" or "Hounds of Love" Kate. This is more in line with "Sensual World" Kate. The new album is spread over two disks, the second being a suite of songs relating the passage of an afternoon into evening and night and then into morning again.

There are moments of stunning, towering beauty on these disks. The first one is a little uneven, but Kate hits her stride on the second one. Age has mellowed her, but as I'm now in my early 40's myself, I can really relate to how nice it is to just meditate and dwell on the subtle beauties that can be found in watching the passage of time on a sweet, summer afternoon. Kate is still able to draw the listener into her spell.

Not a bad place to start if you're new to Kate, but be forewarned, there is a lot of depth to her back catalog.

I've been jonesing for some Kate Bush, lately.

back in the late 80's :shrug:

9. As devilgrrl stated, "The Whole Story" is a decent starting point.

You might also search out the import version of "Hounds of Love". It has a lot of "B" side additional tracks from the British singles, and it's worth it's weight in gold. "Hounds" is a good intro album anyway.
