What's a good excuse for taking a really long lunch?
I need extra time at lunch today, but I can't tell the boss what I need the time for. Anyone got any good ideas?

He so would, though. I recently got my CNA certification, and he kinda freaked after I told him about it (had to miss a day for the state exam).

At least not mine. No plumber excuse because he knows I live with my MIL, so naturally she'd take care of that.

See... this dishonesty thing is hard! :P

he'll just offer to come pick me up. Or ask why didn't I call so he could. He's very helpful that way. :)

Works for me. :7

Actually, a co-worker and I once had a real crazy night and both showed up at work around noon the next day. I mumbled something about not feeling well. My co-worker, asked why he was late, said he had a really nasty hangover after bar-hopping with me until 3 am. Gee, thanks, dude. You just shot my illness excuse all to hell.

25. Do you have kids? they're always good for an excuse.
Just mention that you had to drop by the school 'cause Junior/Juniorette got into some sort of a skirmish with another kid and they were both sent home.

Or the little tyke threw up in class.

Or something.

You could always put a bandaid on just to "prove" it. Of course, it seems pretty low to do this.
