Recommend a nice red wine!
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 02:00 AM by Heidi
My recommendation is La Cuvée Mythique, a French wine. Very nice.

"The 2001 Cuvée Mythique stands out as one of the best success of these last years. Deep ruby red in colour coupled with berry fruit aromas on the nose. Soft blackberry fruits are abundant on the palate combined with a long lingering finish."

1. Do you want "nice" or "good"?
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 02:03 AM by Rabrrrrrr
There's a difference.

In terms of "nice", I like the "Bin" series - bin 555, bin 777, etc. I can't remember which of the numbers are red, but, well, a trip to the liquor store will clear that up. :-)

Georges DeBeouff wines are nice enough, including their Beaujoleis Noveu (and, I hate admit it, I simply cannot remember how to spell that), though pretty much any other Beaujolais is better.

2. You got me, Rabrrrrrr.
I don't like red wine so much, but this one I really enjoyed. So, for me, it's "good," but I also use wine labels in collage, so this one's "nice," too.

5. And I have yet to find an Australian red that is unpalatable
In fact, the truth is, in the world of wine we are no longer in the 70s and early 80s - it's goddamned hard to find a wine that sucks nowadays (excepting the obvious Ripple and Mad Dog). Every now and again I find a wine that isn't as good as I'd like, but I have yet, in the last ten years, bought a wine that was unpalatable, and let me add that, due to the HUGE number of wineries and wines available, I have rarely bought the same wine twice in the last ten years. So take that to the bank.

production methods and also grape raising methods have improved so much in the last ten years, that, truthfully, you can pretty much grab any bottle at random at the store and you will do fine.

The time we live in is truly a bounteous and wondrous time in terms of wine.

They're beautiful wines.
