DVR question
Why do I experience a few second delay on the tv that has the DVR. I have the tv on in one room (near the computer) and the one in the living room with the DVR has a 2 second delay.

1. Video is buffered...
The incoming video signal is encoded and saved to the DVR's hard drive. The DVR reads the saved data decodes it and finally displays it on your TV. This processing takes time, hence the delay.

I may have skipped a step or two or added a step depending on the make/model DVR... but that's the gist of what's happening.

The DVR must display this encoded/buffered video in order to pause/rewind "live" TV.

2. Thanks.
That explains why I am able to stop in the middle of a program and come back.
