Can there be TWO different people using the SAME user name?

Is this possible? The SAME user name, but ONE with say 800 posts and the OTHER with say 20 posts?

If someone chose the name, I don't know...Joe Smith and they had 800 posts...could a COMPLETELY different person come along and ALSO call themselves Joe Smith and start posting?

Or is DU like your email, where if you picked Joe Smith, Yahoo lets say would tell you that you couldn't choose that name because it'd already been taken?

If this is in the WRONG forum, then could one of the moderator's please put it in whichever IS the correct forum.

You might be able to use the name Joe Smith with two blank spaces between the names, and the computer might recognize it as an entirely different username. Or you might be able to put the blank space at the end of the name, again tricking the computer. Maybe not.
