Does Anyone use Homestead for their Online Business?
I'm starting a jewelry business, and I've got to get a web presence fast! I've been looking at various web hosting/building sites, and this one seems to offer the best variety of services, such as predesigned templates, search engine tools, and ecommerce options.

There are so many different choices on the internets, but Homestead looks really promising.

Anyone have any personal experience with their services? Thanx!

1. I don't use that service...
I use dreamhost.com and they provide a one-click installer for http://www.oscommerce.com/

It is a cheap (like $10 per month) and easy way to get a shopping cart up and running. Tweaking the look requires knowledge of PHP and CSS. For example -- http://www.cutxpaste.com/index.html uses oscommerce. It is heavily styled but all the logic for the site was free.

*and, I have nothing to do with the sites listed above*

Here is the default oscommerce look:

They have a nice back-end for adding products too. You could really start from scratch and get something that is OK and working in a few hours.

3. I'm a big fan of open source code...
I will give them a look. I have some web development experience, so I might be able to do some tweaking.

Thanks so much for the info.

2. I have used iPowerWeb.com
for some digital scrapbooking images I sell.

They are good and fairly inexpensive. The support is via email, but they have always gotten back to me rapidly and any issues I have had have been solved in less than 12 hours.

5. This website seems to have
many resources regarding the jewelry business--

If you don't already know about it, maybe it will be helpful for you!

6. Lots of it.
I use Homestead as I have NO coding or other website builing experience whatsoever. They are completely WYSIWYG, but also support flash, etc.

I used it to build an animal shelter's website. Uploading pics, etc is a breeze, tech support is very good, good amount of transfer for the price, and I never had a problem with their e-mail support.

Highly recommended.

8. I started a 30-day free trial today....
My first call to customer service was answered right away, and the guy I talked to was extremely helpful.

I have some web development experience, so I'm going to try their SiteBuilder tool. Also, it's cool that they support flash. Not that I would ever use it...but nice to know the option is there if I ever change my mind.

I get a very good feel from this company.
