Look what video game I found...

I dusted it off and am playing it again.

Gosh...brings back so many memories. This is definitely one of my top favorite video games of all-time.

1. I remember how impressed I was with the graphics.
Compare that to the modern, first person Metroid.

I think Metroid Prime is up there as well as one of my favorite video games of all time...but not above Super Metroid, of course ;).

So many of the modern video games are so easy to beat...hell, I beat Halo, Halo 2, and Fable the same day I got them (after playing for hours on end, of course).

I still, for the life of me, cannot beat the original Zelda NES game. That game has to be one of the hardest of all-time, IMO. In fact, there were quite a few NES games I never beat.

Non-super version.
I am old school.

6. I know what you mean.
I recently started getting into emulators -- for games which I legally own, of course. Um, anyway ... so, the point is, I started playing some of those older games and they are so hard!!! And yet somehow so enthralling ...

7. Hehe...
I'm playing the Super Metroid game on the console, but I also have it in ROM form, as well as many others. ;)

Legally, of course...

11. Oh, yeah, we're all totally legal here.
I can pull my Sega Master System out from the basement any time I want. I just don't want to get attacked by dust bunnies.

Sadly, however, that statement is completely true. I think I have issues with letting go ...

13. Heh.
I still have all my old-school consoles. I am going to dust off my Sega Genesis when I go home for Thanksgiving break and play some old school Sonic the Hedgehog. ;)

You're not the only one who is having a hard time letting go of the classics. ;) :hi:

8. I didn't say this...
but www.cherryroms.com has a great collection of roms for the Super Nintendo. Unfortunately, they were recently hacked badly, so you should check back in a few days for the main site to be up again.

10. You consider Super Metroid hard?
Damn man... there are a LOT of vastly more difficult games out there than this today. God of War, Devil May Cry 3, Shadow of the Colossus, and Metal Gear Solid 3, just off the top of my head.

14. FPSs are easy.
You might as well be playing Nintendogs.

Not even remotely close. :hi:

17. Oh okay. Yeah, FPSs usually are fairly easy.
But, then again, a lot of the difficulty usually comes when you play them multiplayer, against people who are just as good as you.

19. Speaking of multiplayer...
I don't suppose you (or anyone) has had the chance to play 16 person co-op on Serious Sam 2 (pc)? I hear it's both incredibly fun and stupid.

20. No, I've never played either Serious Sam.
I have played UT2004, Far Cry, and Doom 3, all of which are very good. UT2004 is the best for multiplayer fun though.

21. Try Quake 4...
it's good if you're looking for a brainless FPS. If you're looking for a good plot, I'd check out Half-Life series or F.E.A.R.

22. I might get Q4 on XBox360, but I haven't decided yet.
I hear FEAR is really good too. I can't say I've been all that enthralled by FPSs lately, and I'm steering away from PC gaming more, as it just gets impossible to keep your rig up to quality spec nowadays.

When I visit my buddy's house, we're inclined to play a couple of games.
