How badly has TO screwed up his life? He was even dissed by the pizza guy
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051108/ap_on_sp_fo_ne/fbn_eagles_owens_future

Owens summoned police to his house late Monday because there were some people on his property. He said he wanted to be left alone, had no comment and would contact the news media when he did want to speak, police at the scene said.

Later, two pizzas were delivered to Owens' home. Someone answered the door — not Owens — and gave deliveryman James McDevitt a $5 tip. McDevitt said he left the tip on the door step.

PHILADELPHIA - Terrell Owens and agent Drew Rosenhaus will have a news conference at the Owens' house in Moorestown, N.J. this afternoon. Owens' brief but tumultuous time in Philadelphia ended yesterday when the All-Pro wide receiver was told not to return to the team this season.

1. Meh. Someone else will give him a chance next season.

And he's getting paid for this season. So he could probably care less. It's ONLY about money and ego for this guy. It was when he left San Fran. It was when he signed with Philli. It was in training camp this season. It has been all along so far during the regular season. It's about TO.

And next year, he'll play the good guy for the season, garning praises and stocking up on political capital (just like he did last year for the Eagles) and then he'll quickly spend it all the next season, complaining about being underpaid, underappreciated, and underutilized. He'll never change and teams will have to learn to deal with it if they want his talent.

Kudos, however, to that Pizza kid. Well played my friend.

2. I think the powers that be will teach him a lesson like Latrell learned
Uh yeah he will be back next year. This year if his contract allows it.

Wistrom? Leonard Little? Iverson? Marcus Vick? Wade Boggs? Steve FREAKIN' Howe?

Did anything that any of them did override their ability to get work?

3. Except that Latrell Spreewell greatly overestimated his own potential...

The truth is, Terrell Owens is one of, if not THE most valuable recievers in the NFL. He can back up EVERYTHING he spouts about his talent. He catches TDs at an alarming rate and he's got ridiculous pysical abilities. His problems are with his mouth and attitude ONLY. Not his on-the-field capabilities.

Latrell has diminished physical capabilities AND a inability to keep his mouth shut. Latrell wasn't worth what he was being paid in the FIRST place, let alone 7 million MORE a year. He'll be lucky if he gets signed for the 10 vet minimum this year. And it's NOT just becaue he's so hard to control. It's because he can't play D anymore, he can't cut to the hoop anymore, and he's gone from a slashing playmaker to a mediocre and REALLY streaky jumpshooter.

4. Oh I agree
completely. I never saw LAtrell as being good enough to override the coaching of a coach-sorry to say it but an example needs to be made sometimes.

Yes TO really is as good as he thinks he is. The problem is that that is all he talks about or more to the point that he talks at all.

He'll be back. I would be shocked if he wasn't.

Green Bay could use a receiver.....how do you think that would go over?

5. City owned club, Hard Nosed HOF QB, Rich tradition..........
My 8-ball says........Outlook not good.

They could certainly use a receiver, but TO wouldn't like the fact that Bart Favrah hasn't had a "favorite" receiver since Sterling Sharp. That and the fact that Bart throws more 4 pick games than 4 TD games nowadays.

6. There's is a comparison
TO is like Shannon and Sterling's EGOs added together...and that is saying something.

For what it is worth-most of the Packers say that Sterling leaving was what allowed them to win a Super Bowl. It was all "I have to have my catches" as if that was all that mattered.

7.  Off topic, but

I remember watching Sprewell practice in Toronto. I kid you not the guy was draining EVERY 3 pointer he took. It was an amazing show. This was about 3-4 yrs ago -when he was with the Knicks. He just dominated practice - don't know why that doesn't translate to the game though...

8. He's about as streaky as any one performer could be.
He had games with Minnesota where he would absolutely light it up. But the next game he would go 1-11 and get absolutely schooled on D.

No doubt he was a talent at one point in his career, but those days are long over.
