Mothers and Bravery
I started trying to figure out the answers about my mom and the cause.

I've explained it to her as best I can.

I've told her of the consequences.

She's told me she's fine with them.

Why have I not taken her at her word?

Because I want to protect her.

But neither of us are children...and I'm trying to treat her like a child.

I've ignored the fact that she's a grown adult who has gone through more shit than I might in my lifetime.

I'm insulting her if I don't take her at her word.

I've warned her.

I've only let my fear of her being hurt stop me.

She's not afraid.

Why am I?

Maybe it is because I've been a shit to her for a third of my life?

Why should she suffer for me anymore?

But I've told her.

It's time to stop treating her like a child.

My mom is brave.

BRAVE.

I won't back off because of my fear of her being hurt anymore. She knows the new rules in town.

I just wanted to protect her.

So light a candle...I'm going all the way. She'll need the protection.
