Canes
Ho hum. Apparently we've still got a few players.

The most intriguing matchup in college football by far would be USC's offense vs. Miami's defense. I just don't think Texas can slow down 'SC enough, especially not in Pasadena.

Damn close to a perfect day. FSU blew at home to NC State and the Gators barely survived at home in double OT vs. mighty Vandy.

2. I was pumped for this game as I thought it would be close...
It was like watching paint dry, boring as hell. Miami beat the shit out of them.

3. The scope of our victory was exciting to me
There was no way to predict or legitmately expect something like that. Va Tech has outcoached and matched up against Miami well in recent years. Plus Miami's interior offensive line had been vulnerable all year then somehow played great tonight, especially after our starting tailback Winston Moss got hurt. He's probably done for the year with a knee injury.

Many young Canes stood out tonight, linemen and linebackers who were heavily recruited but hadn't played big roles until tonight, namely Kareem Brown and Willie Williams.

4. Nothing quite as fun as watching
the Chokies go down in flames. God, I despise 'em!

I'm guessing Marcus Vick's draft stock just tumbled as he fumbled. He completely came apart under the pressure Miami brought to bear. Not quite ready for prime time.

Next up: watching Miami and Penn State pass Alabama in the polls. Two one-loss teams ahead of an unbeaten. But that's OK. When a team gets wrapped up in where it should be in the BCS, just like VPI did tonight, bad things happen. Bad things, man.
