Am I the only one with beer delivery by taxi???

Where I live I can call a taxi to deliver beer(and almost anything else) To my home. Anywhere else like that or is it a Joplin thing?

1. i'm not totally sure but i think alcohol delivery is illegal in Texas

i was thinking of doing a beer delivery service in a town i lived in that was dry. seems like i ran across something that said it was illegal.

2. In my day, United Cab in New Orleans would deliver just about anything

a friend's BF worked as a dispatcher for them. You could hear the calls coming through on his radio: "One fifth of J-B Scotch to xxxx St. Charles Ave...." And all this time I thought it was just a N'Awlins thing!

One hopes they're up and running... I did hear there were cabs at the airport... edit: nola.com confirms they are on the open list! :bounce:

5. I've done that (sort of)

When I was at Uni there was a couple of people who flypapered the campus under the name 'Booze Brothers'. You could order beer, wine & Rizla's & they delivered in a white van withint the hour.

Never booked a cab to deliver it though!

6. A guy I knew in PA used to have our token taxi deliver beer

because he had lost his license.

but I can order it online and they bring it in a truck. If i call they usually bring it in a van.

...we'd take the taxi home and get the driver to go through the liquor store drive-up window for us.
