I am sad to announce the death of a show biz icon.
It is with the saddest heart that I must pass on the following news.
Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast
infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs.Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours. Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was
kneaded.

Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled
with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times he was still a crusty old man and was considered a roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife, Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly dad, Pop Tart. The funeral was held at
3:50 for about 20 minutes.

1. Oh God! DON'T! I thought Abe Vigoda died!
He's still alive, right?
Update: He is! and I found a site where you check if famous people are alive or dead. Well I know what I'm doing all day!

3. For a while, there was abevigoda.com
Edited on Fri Nov-04-05 12:06 PM by asthmaticeog
which simply had a "Barney Miller" era headshot and the word "ALIVE." Presumably this would change in the event of his death.

I can't seem to get it to load now, though - it looks as though Mr. Vigoda outlived his website.

On edit: if you surf with Firefox, there's an "Abe Vigoda - Dead or Alive" plugin:

4. didya hear about this one?
I usually don't pass on sad news like this, but sometimes we need to pause and remember what life is all about.

There was a great loss recently. Larry Latthas, the song writer who wrote the "Hokey Pokey" died recently at the age of 83.

It was extremely difficult for the family to keep him in the casket. They'd put the left leg in....well, you know the rest.
