Why do DU posters take Lounge comments too seriously?

My people post a variety of topics on the DU lounge. Sometimes feelings are hurt or tempers run hot. Why is this?

3. Because there is no tone of voice or body language to associate

with what is posted and sometimes things get taken the wrong way. I disagree with you that close relationships cannot be forged on a message board. I used to believe that, and then I got really ill, and a couple of people missed me and then a friend came to my hospital bed with a print out of about 250 get well posts. I hope someday you will see that this message board does mean more than just being a place to post. :hi:
