WHAT cliques?!?
Hey, folks:

There are at least 70,000 registered DUers here. Some have been here for only a few weeks, a few days, or perhaps even a few minutes. Others are the old guard, the wiseguys, the folks who have been here since day one. And then there's the "tweens," like me.

And I don't give a damn how long you've been here, who you know, what you know, what state you live in, or who you're married to.

If there are any cliques here, I'm blissfully unaware of them. I've got too much to do to worry about cliques in the Lounge. I'm working on my own damn life here.

But since I'm here on a Wednesday night in the Lounge, let's be friends.

:loveya:

6. Yes, people who have slogged through too many bad elections,
wars, attended protests and gatherings together and made friendships offline will never give an unequal time towards some over others - not leftists. No way. ;-)

7. I agree
Some people have established strong friendships, others have established groups with the same beliefs or sense of humour. While I probably will not be a part of that.... I have to say I've never been excluded by any of them.

So hey, derby! I don't think you and I have ever run into each other before, but lets be friends even if we are strangers.

Khash.

23. Pretty well
Still trying to decide between going back to school for social work, social psych, developmental psych, counseling psych, or anthropology. The major advantage of experimental psych programs is the statistical training they offer, so useful in non-academic settings should one fall from the ivory tower and fail to land on a teaching job. :D

14. Marvin is boring?
Nah, just depressing because you know you will never be as smart as Marvin. But you could be "the least benightedly unintelligent individual it has even been my profound lack of pleasure to be unable to avoid meeting."

Marvin - :loveya:

PS for a cheap milestone, post once more and check your post count.

I never was very good at those clique things, so here I am, take it or leave it, I can't please everyone! Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...we won't get fooled again, yeah, that's it.

17. But since I know you IRL...
does that make us part of the same clique? Actually, I do think the whole clique phenomenon arises from the fact that people who know each other IRL *do* tend to post to each other more and talk about things that have happened to them recently. I think it's normal and natural to do so. I'm in a couple of cliques -- the Texas forum is one, I think.

Hey, btw, I heard on a mailing list that someone named Sherry was one of those that got arrested in front of KBH's office. Do you know if it's true & if it's the Sherry we know?

(Heh. Look, I have just demonstrated clique-ish behavior by asking you a personal, off topic question.)

20. I didn't know there were cliques
I've never been in a clique before. Am I in one now? if so which one?
The only thing I can think of that might make me stand out is that I'm from Delaware.
From what I understand Delawarians are respected here but that might just be LynneSin.

22. Not cliques, really. Just some groupings.
There are the assholes.
the asswatchers
the minions of the cats
the dog companions
the non sequitors
the funny puns (one day Donald Rumsfeld... :))
the obscure references
the smug marrieds (i say, as a bitter singleton :))
the parents
the drunkards
the freeptards in disguise
....

:)

27. Self-identification only.
You get to select the groups of which you belong. I don't know you well enough yet to know about your qualities.

These aren't really discrete groups, anyway.
