Opinions on the "Revenge of the Sith" DVD

As far as the movie is concerned, I thought the image quality was just amazing.

I was disappointed in the lack of a full fledged documentary on the making, though.

Your thoughts?

1. The film (and transfer) was sublime; the extras were fair

After my third viewing, I've come to the conclusion that ROTS is the second best of the series (and its second half is unquestionably the saga's finest hour).

Unfortunately, my reaction to the extras was tepid. The main documentary can't compare to the candid one included on the TPM disc; but the web documentaries were amusing. The audio commentary, as expected, was intriguing when Lucas chimed in, but a large chunk of it was dominated by the FX guys (I'm interested in character and theme, not effects).

I think I've been spoiled by the LOTR discs, but here's hoping Lucas impresses us with that 2007 saga set.

2. Yeah, I really missed a decent documentary.

The "Within a Minute" thing was cool, but I wanted to see the whole story. I wanted to see all the bits of the plot fitting together, and behind the scenes with the actors, etc.

I liked the docs on the Original Trilogy DVD.
