Classic. Absolute classic.

2. I was pregnant with my daughter when I went to see it
when it opened in theaters in 1972.

I had nightmares on end!!!

I still can't watch it now (not alone, anyhow) :scared:

3. Genius all the way
From casting a black actor as the hero (& making absolutely no deal whatsoever about his race) to the brutal ending & its clear parallels with lynch mobs it packs a strong political punch. And it's a damn good, very atmospheric, horror trip.
